Improve your clients’ performance and prevent injury

Rotational movements are incredibly important in our daily lives. Everything from opening doors to playing with our kids depends on our ability to rotate. Unfortunately, rotational training is rarely included in programs because the movements are complex and improvement can be difficult to measure.

In this video training, you will be guided through a step-by-step assessment of rotational patterns and a proper training progression based on deficits identified during the evaluation. Throughout the course, you’ll discover how proper rotational training can reduce your clients’ exposure to potential injury while improving their performance.

Led by Mitch Hauschildt, MA, ATC, CSCS, who has 20 years of experience as an athletic trainer and certified strength and conditional specialist, you will gain the knowledge you need to be a more well-rounded professional, looking not just at movement quantity, but movement quality.

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Understand why rotation matters for all movements
  • Properly assess rotational movement patterns for mobility and stability deficits
  • Implement exercises that are designed to resist poor rotational patterns and create new, more optimal rotational movements

Reviews

It is a good overview course with important information about working in the transverse plane, but be on alert that there are numerous questions on the test that were not covered in the course.

You get a great concept on how to assess not just rotational movement but you can adapt the framework used here for many different movements and planes. It is certainly something I'll be using starting now!

The assessment flow chart was too small and not in focus. I tried to enlarge it and it was blurry. Consequently, I could not read it. It would have been better to show enlarged sections of the flow chart as he was discussing them. When discussing degrees of rotation, it would be helpful to show a line to which the degrees of rotation refers: i.e. degrees of rotation in reference to what? Videos of the assessment process would have been extremely helpful. Alternatively, more still photos could have been used to show starting and ending positions.

Great course!
