A Mindful Approach to Exercise Programming for Women’s Overall Health and Fitness
When it comes to training women, it’s vital to take into account their natural hormone cycle and its impact on their biology and physiology. More importantly, you will get better results when you understand how these hormonal changes can be used to improve their fitness regimen and overall health.
In this two-hour course, you will explore the lifespan of a woman’s hormones from early adolescence, 20’s and 30’s, pregnancy and post-partum. Backed by science and anecdotal evidence from real women, you will gain insight into the best ways to work with these hormonal changes throughout a woman’s various life stages in a continuum-based approach to fitness. You will also focus on practical exercise programming application for perimenopausal, menopausal and post-menopausal clients.
Led by Jiji Pollock, MS, PhD(c), Director of Science for the Institute of Motion and adjunct faculty in Kinesiology at A.T. Still University who has 30 years of experience working with and researching women of various fitness levels and ages, you will not only gain an understanding of how training female clients is different from training male clients, but how to work with their hormonal status to improve women’s health and fitness, ultimately increasing your client retention and value as an exercise professional.
Upon completion, you will be able to:
• Understand the natural lifecycle of a woman’s hormones, from adolescence to post-menopause
• Communicate with female clients about their menstrual cycle and training
• Consider the various stages of the menstrual cycle and the impact fluctuating hormones have on fitness
• Apply exercise programming that work with a woman’s life stages, specifically later in life

Reviews
Great information, the presenter of the course could have been better. I had to speed up the replay to get through.
It was very informative. Thank you
This course had great info but it was presented very poorly. The speaker stumbled on her words constantly, had a very awkward demeanour and had odd, long pauses that made the content hard to comprehend and put together.
